A simple way to cook baby's first egg yolk. It sets softly, and is easily mixed into cooked, pureed or mashed vegetables, or pureed fruit. Egg yolk is a rich source of iron for your baby.
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons water
Use within 2 days.
To serve cooked egg yolk with First foods:
Add vegetables
Use a hand-held blender or mini-processor to combine cooked
vegetable puree with a little cooked yolk.
Little greens custard recipe
1 tablespoon cooked chopped courgette
1 tablespoon cooked chopped broccoli
1 tablespoon baby's steamed egg yolk (above)
Blend and serve.
Progressing to slightly more lumpy textures:
Just whisk or stir cooked yolk into the cooked mashed
vegetables.
