While this white sauce is basic, it will add extra calcium, protein and fat to your baby's diet. It can be added to a variety of vegetables in pureed, mashed or whole foods.

2 tablespoons flour
1 cup prepared Karicare Follow-On formula or Toddler milk, or standard milk (or

with a wooden spoon on a moderate heat for a few minutes.
Gradually stir in the milk or formula (or milk plus vegetable cooking water).
Cook, stirring, until the sauce thickens.

¼ - ½ cup grated, tasty cheese
Once thickened, remove sauce from heat and stir in grated tasty cheese.
Carrot and parsnip in cheese sauce
Suitable from 8 months
½ small parsnip
½ small carrot
Cover and refrigerate left-overs and use the next day for baby. Or serve remaining vegetable in sauce with other vegetables, or add to soup for older children or adults.
