Nutricia respects your privacy and is committed to managing and protecting your personal information in accordance with relevant privacy legislation in New Zealand protecting the rights of individuals.

The information we collect

We may collect personal information about you:

when you send or post a query or comment via our Site including the "Ask a Dietitian” section on our Site;

when you voluntarily provide information to us, including by completing a website form, customer registration form, club membership, survey or questionnaire or providing information to us at a conference, sales call or other event;
when you participate in research activity, promotional activity, competition, promotion, discount voucher offer or in store sampling activity;
when you request certain products, samples or services; and
when you provide information to us via our clinical care line or advisory line.

In some cases, that will include information about your health (eg if you ask a health-related query). We understand that you consent to us collecting this information.

In some cases we may collect information directly from health care professionals, including doctors, nurses and midwives. This information will relate only to the health care professional, and not to their patients. This information will be used only as set out in this privacy policy, including sending the health care professional information about events and products and responding to their enquiries and in some cases we may ask for their opinion on certain matters. Under no circumstances will we collect information relating to the health care professional’s patients or send any communications directly to their patients.

how you heard about Nutricia;

The personal information you provide us may be used in the following ways:

to deal with your enquiries and requests, to provide you with products, services, prizes, gifts or samples, to assess and handle complaints, and for general customer care purposes;
to develop and improve our products, services, communications methods and the functionality of our website;
for internal business, accounting, IT and administration purposes;
for research, planning, analysis, profiling, data cleansing, statistics and segmentation;
for marketing, and promotional purposes including contacting you by mail, phone, email or SMS and sending you information about products, services, events and offers that may be of interest to you;
if you are a member of the Nutricia Baby Club then we may use your information for the purposes of the club including sending you information and offers; and

if they are related to Nutricia including our head office and international branches;
to meet the purpose for which it was submitted;

to organisations such as agents, contractors or service providers that perform specific services or functions on our behalf. We limit this disclosure to the information that they need to perform the required service or function. They are only permitted to use the personal information for this specific service or function and they cannot legally disclose or use this information for any other purpose. These organisations are also bound by the relevant privacy legislation.

Sensitive and children's information

We will only collect sensitive or health information from you or about you with your consent and use such information in accordance with relevant privacy laws. By supplying sensitive or health information you will be taken to have given your consent to our collection of that information.

We have no intention of collecting any personal information directly from individuals under thirteen years of age. However there may be cases where we collect information from parents or guardians about their children, such as their age, date of birth and dietary needs. In such cases we will ensure that any children’s information is only provided to us on a voluntary basis and with the consent of the relevant parent or guardian. This children’s information is collected for the purpose of segmenting information and enabling us to assess and respond to enquiries and to provide more informed, appropriate and tailored products and services to the relevant parent or guardian. Under no circumstances will we use the children’s information for sending any communications directly to those children. Subject to the particular restrictions set out in this “Sensitive and Children’s Information” section, children’s information will be used strictly in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

When we obtain information about any individual from a third party we will comply with the relevant privacy legislation at all times. A parent or guardian may contact us at any time if they would like to amend, update or remove information relating to their child.

Changing, Correcting and Updating Information
